Hola! I’m Rafael—poet at heart, actor by profession, cook by birth, and tour guide in Spain since 2015.
If you’ve been to Barcelona, there’s a good chance our paths have crossed. Over the years, the many travelers I’ve guided have given me the stage name “Rafaelos.”
My motto is simple: “Be a tourist and feel like a local.” Beyond sharing the rich history of each place, I strive to give travelers a uniquely authentic Barcelona experience—the kind that isn’t found online or in any guidebook. So, I often weave in stories of local identity, contemporary politics, and plenty of recommendations on the region’s cuisine.
As an actor, I tend to spice up my tours with a bit of theater and humor; as a poet, I use language to tell the story of this remarkable region; and as a cook, I love to adapt the culinary tour menu to suit the Mediterranean palate.

So my friends... I've been guiding groups for about a decade. Went out to meet a man - yes, Raffaello - first what a man. This week we returned from a vacation abroad, during which we also visited Barcelona. We were lucky and the guide who accompanied us in Barcelona was Rafael. Rafael showed us Barcelona, and adjusted the guidance for the whole family, both for the adults who wanted to know and to wait, and also for the young children of their age, which was important to excite them but not burden them with too many details. It was an excellent guide, Raphael knows the city very well, knows how to tell a story, and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to focus on the city in the main sites and spice up the trip with stories and anecdotes! We went on an organized trip with the charming Rafael from Barcelona to Costa Brava. First of all, I have to mention our amazing guide Rafael! The kind and patient attitude towards my mother, a woman in a wheelchair, and Rafael made sure that in places she didn't have access to, she stayed with the driver (the charming one, it should be noted, also helped with kindness and a big smile, showing her places, views and making sure to help her with the chair on getting on and off the bus) in addition to being a human being Amazing, Raphael is also a stunning guide, he took us to places with spectacular views and explained in a fascinating way about every place and thing and he really had a huge nose for everything!! I had the best day ever on my private tour of Park Güell with the very knowledgeable Raphael! While on the tour Rafa shared his vast knowledge of the history of the park in such an interesting way, always keeping it light with a touch of humor. It was much more enjoyable than I expected and I can't wait to sign up for another tour. Also, I found that he was very generous about sharing information regarding the best restaurants etc. which enhanced the rest of my trip. I highly recommend Raphael, so if you are looking for a great tour guide then look no further
We had the best day with Raphael!!! He was extremely knowledgeable and really made the history interesting to our teenagers!! He is funny and smart and definitely patient! He was able to answer every question and even helped us rearrange our itinerary to make it even better. In addition he helped us with recommendations for other things like dinner and flamenco shows during the rest of our trip! Would definitely come back to Spain and use him for our touring!! Highly recommended
