Hola! I’m Rafael—poet at heart, actor by profession, cook by birth, and tour guide in Spain since 2015.

If you’ve been to Barcelona, there’s a good chance our paths have crossed. Over the years, the many travelers I’ve guided have given me the stage name “Rafaelos.”

My motto is simple: “Be a tourist and feel like a local.” Beyond sharing the rich history of each place, I strive to give travelers a uniquely authentic Barcelona experience—the kind that isn’t found online or in any guidebook. So, I often weave in stories of local identity, contemporary politics, and plenty of recommendations on the region’s cuisine.

As an actor, I tend to spice up my tours with a bit of theater and humor; as a poet, I use language to tell the story of this remarkable region; and as a cook, I love to adapt the culinary tour menu to suit the Mediterranean palate.

Excursions outside of Barcelona

Barcelona is endless and there is a lot to do and see in it, but for those who are fed up with the city or just want to clear their head from the urban landscape – there is also life outside the metropolis!

Well listen... you probably know this dilemma where on the one hand you want a close guide who will show you and take you to the most worthwhile and interesting places and on the other hand you don't feel like digging and eating your head... so let me close this corner for you because the second you meet Raphael you will understand You won! Forget how old I am, but my dear daughter is 14 years old, and Rafael managed to captivate us both despite the age difference.. Friends, the man is a professional, frighteningly intelligent, his knowledge is vast and most importantly he knows the right dose and that is the secret of magic.. He knew when to throw you off with a story from before 500 years and when to release you to eat the most delicious churros in Barcelona.. He will take you to the most magical alleys in the district and take the coolest pictures for you!! And that's even before we mentioned the tips you won't get on any tourist site. So listen to me.. don't do Barcelona without him!! Under the responsibility of...

So my friends... I've been guiding groups for about a decade. Went out to meet a man - yes, Raffaello - first what a man. And professional and kind and generous with advice and ideas. and my talent in his performances. And interesting and fascinating for complex audiences and different ages and cultures. From the Kabbalah and the holiness of the Ramban in 37th Haruna (you will get the explanation of the variety of options from him) through the King's life in Barcelona and the many and varied folk legends of giants and dragons to the gossipy but profound world of the artist from Figueres. In quaint towns with magical bridges over rivers, through castles Fascinating history. From descriptions of the artists and their students to discussions about their decisions and works. With his acting skills and his charm in the world of the Catalans. Thank you very much, and I hope that in the future we will get to work together !

This week we returned from a vacation abroad, during which we also visited Barcelona. We were lucky and the guide who accompanied us in Barcelona was Rafael. Rafael showed us Barcelona, and adjusted the guidance for the whole family, both for the adults who wanted to know and to wait, and also for the young children of their age, which was important to excite them but not burden them with too many details. It was an excellent guide, Raphael knows the city very well, knows how to tell a story, and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to focus on the city in the main sites and spice up the trip with stories and anecdotes! Rafael was fun!

We went on an organized trip with the charming Rafael from Barcelona to Costa Brava. First of all, I have to mention our amazing guide Rafael! The kind and patient attitude towards my mother, a woman in a wheelchair, and Rafael made sure that in places she didn't have access to, she stayed with the driver (the charming one, it should be noted, also helped with kindness and a big smile, showing her places, views and making sure to help her with the chair on getting on and off the bus) in addition to being a human being Amazing, Raphael is also a stunning guide, he took us to places with spectacular views and explained in a fascinating way about every place and thing and he really had a huge nose for everything!! Thanks again, see you next time

No on Raphael. A guide at heart. A poet with an amazing poetic soul. Rafael gave me and my grandson Uri (pictured) an unforgettable experience. Amazing and powerful tour in the alleys of Barcelona and the new city. Recommended for any visitor to the city. Thank you Raphael for such a lovely day. The main thing is that Barca also won big.

I had the best day ever on my private tour of Park Güell with the very knowledgeable Raphael! While on the tour Rafa shared his vast knowledge of the history of the park in such an interesting way, always keeping it light with a touch of humor. It was much more enjoyable than I expected and I can't wait to sign up for another tour. Also, I found that he was very generous about sharing information regarding the best restaurants etc. which enhanced the rest of my trip. I highly recommend Raphael, so if you are looking for a great tour guide then look no further

We had the best day with Raphael!!! He was extremely knowledgeable and really made the history interesting to our teenagers!! He is funny and smart and definitely patient! He was able to answer every question and even helped us rearrange our itinerary to make it even better. In addition he helped us with recommendations for other things like dinner and flamenco shows during the rest of our trip! Would definitely come back to Spain and use him for our touring!! Highly recommended

Why choose a private guide?

It seems that this is the kind of thing that doesn’t require any explanation at all, where the advantages are self-evident. And yet, even the self-evident must be stated. Imagine for a moment: you and the guide, the guide and you. Without background noise, without distractions. Direct, free and immediate communication. Every question, every curiosity – receives an immediate response.

Each and every one of us is a world unto ourselves, with unique areas of interest. Love architecture and art? We’ll expand on that. Interested in local politics? We’ll explain. Is Jewish history important to you? We’ll delve deeper. Need a break? No problem, we’ll stop for a coffee around the corner. The tour is for you, and only you. There’s no need to compromise or adapt to a group – you are the group!

Our time is a precious resource, especially for the tourist visiting the city for a limited number of days. Therefore, it’s important that plans don’t get canceled and that everything flows smoothly. With a private guide, the tour is guaranteed and does not depend on the number of participants. You signed up? The tour is on!

And of course, the pace. Ah, the pace. No more running from point to point to check off a list. Here, we put down roots at every stop and immerse ourselves in the experience. Because in the end, what matters is not how much we saw, but how we felt. This is your opportunity to experience the destination in the most intimate and profound way. So come on, let’s go on an adventure that’s all yours (and mine!).
